yes, it worked out great, and it performs GREAT (compared to the stock mobo)

the machine is the Presario 5000us, Duron 750, blah blah?

it's actually a little bit better of a fit than the stock mobo.

I can't find the model name/number right off, the machine is back with
my gf's mom (it was the cheapest one there, it's got everything
integrated), but anything that is microATX will fit just fine.
I noticed that there are also alot of cheap DDR boards out there too..
one thing you want to make sure of is that you've got the bus speed set
to 100mhz, instead of 133, or it won't boot (or post, or even fart)

gotta love Compaq, right???

if you're working on it late at night (like I was), remember to put the
RAM in. i just about crapped my pants in my sleep-deprived state of mind
when it wouldn't work, until (after 10 minutes of tinkering) i
remembered the RAM. (and I remembered the bus speed after that...) boy
am I stupid....

let me know how it goes
