I installed SuSE 8.1 pro this week, just for try. I have no problems you 
mention with the icons, I did had a crashing Konqueror after I made some 
changes to the skins.

How do you feel about the session manager that comes with 8.1? I don't 
like it much. The (stupid) questions asked when loggin out are to much 
M$. Is it better on 8.0 or 8.2, more like how it was on 7.3? (Just one 
question about logging off, no reboot or shutdown nagging).
