Hi,
I am kind of newbie to mail setup.

This is what I am trying to do:

we have an antivirus software with  e-mail alert facilities . The machine
with antivirus software works as ftp server and is within an intranet. The
smtp server is also within intranet. The e-mail alert is going to user
account on the local system, but not going out. I tried specifying the smtp
server ip in .pinerc and also tried creating .forward for the local user
account to direct to the mailbox outside the local system (but within the
network).

Or do I need to create a MX record ( I have the IP address of the smtp
server and its an intranet address)
