Mike:
I am interesting in taking the survey you have assembled regarding the
utility of Linux and Open Source solutions. Please send me what is needed
to take the survey.

One of the values of the Open Source, Free Software and Linux communities
is the free flow of information, so that as many people as possible are
involved in the process of examining what is at hand. This is a critical
part of the process that you're examining, and collecting this sort of
information is no different than the discussion of other issues and ideas
that are discussed on the KLUG mailing lists often.

There is no better way to study a community than to join it for a time,
at least in the sense that data is collected and discussed according to the
values of the group. Since one of our values regarding this process is to
share it, I have suggested that we do so with the answers to any survey
you propose. The survey then benefits all of the participants, in the
same way that the Open Source process does. This is how I will participate
in this effort, which will serve yur needs for information, and will inform
everyone else on the mailing list as well. We can also discuss the different
points of view revealed in the survey, and I would hope that you would parti-
cipate in this as well.

I am looking forward to this collaboration, and your reply.
