[KLUG Members] GDM weirdness.

I'm trying to setup some HP X-Terminals so they log into a Linux box
running Redhat 8.0. I enabled XDMCP, so I get a login screen, but with
GDM, every character I type acts like I'm holding down the ALT key.

I can login fine as long as I don't have any of the menu hotkey keys in
my user or password, but as soon as I hit an "i" for example, the screen
resets itself. If I type an "o", it hits the OK button, and so on ...

I've tried GDM in both graphical and standard greeter mode. I've tried
a bunch of different keyboards. Nothing seems to help.

Then I tried XDM and KDM. Both work as they should.

Any clue on getting GDM to work?

Also, is there any way to change the cursor blink rate for GDM or KDM?
I normally disable it on HPUX's CDE login screen, since every blink is
really unnecessary network traffic.
