And it is hardly an intro topic,  most people are really intimidates by
vi.

There is a presentation idea!  Translating awk scripts into perl.  Say
if I want to do the same type of thing in perl that I do everyday in awk
- I'd find that helpful since I'm no perl monkey, but use awk everyday
(my UNIX usage/training predates perl).

Pretty much.  If the m4 directive section was larger I'd use this book a
lot more, but as it is, it is a last resort (but essential) reference;
but loaded with devilishly complicated arcana.
