>V.92 modems are here. And v.92 modem users don't need a 2nd phone line.

I've read something about this. Seemed like it required a special
feature on your line from the phone company - (a) it may not be
available (2) the cost of your phone line just went up (3) throughput
really stinks while this feature is engaged.

Fast? Yeah, something like 60k, maybe, if the constellations are just
so and you have a horsehoe hanging over your PC.

Yep, "most of the time", if you figure in ALL the time your not using
it.

No, they don't, and they don't. Those 33k users are either cheap skates
or in bottom tier markets (i.e. podunk). Pretty much nobody cares about
them.

Ok, but what about when your using a fast or unloaded site?

>V.92 modem is the "marriage" of the phone and the dialup modem. It used

Oh, so it's an answering machine?

>2. Upload files faster than conventional modems
>3. Connects fast
Ieee! I don't want to connect - I want to be connected - note the
tense.

>4. Improved download speeds

Improved over 33k, that ain't hard. The Model A was an improvement over
the Model T (trust me, I own a "T" and have worked on several "A"s).

>V.92 is the latest in modem technology.
And Britney Spears is the latest in teen divas... that denotes quality?
