Thanks,

Bruce

Is it really worth spending what you do, or was it because you wanted to free up a phone line?

If you are like the many who switched to cable for Internet primarily to free up your phone, or to get rid of a 2nd phone line,
Triton.net has good news for you!

V.92 modems are here. And v.92 modem users don't need a 2nd phone line. Their modem lets them take and make calls while online. Plus, they get their Internet pretty doggone fast--at a price that makes really good sense.

The best news is that we want you to have new Zoom v.92 modem FREE-- along with Triton's Internet at prices as low as $12.49 month* for unlimited use, or $4.95/mo light usage

FACT: Unless you are downloading very large files eg., music MP3's, there is not much
difference in the capability of a v.92 dialup modem vs. a cable connection. Why? Broadband connections like cable are overkill most of the time. The people who develop the web sites (and other cool stuff you see on the Internet) are well aware that the vast majority of Internet users still have a dialup modem with an average speed of about 33k (who may never justify spending more for their Internet). So the developers have to play to that audience. While they're obsessed with delivering more and better content faster, new tools are continually becoming available to them to do just that. And cable users pay a lot more to get the same content, maybe a few milliseconds faster.

FACT: You are not in control of your speed just because you have a fast connection. Regardless of the type of connection you have, you must still take your place in line when visiting a busy site. Data is sent in packets in sequence to each user. Busy servers/networks are the primary cause of slow response. Ebay, for instance, doles out its data very slowly during some periods. Cable users must also compete with dozens of their neighbors for the same data stream.

FACT: Most Internet users' activities consist of browsing web pages or email. Web pages
and text-based email are small data files and will arrive at pretty much the same speed on a good modem connection as on cable. Look at the size of your faucet. Do you really need a fire hydrant under your kitchen sink? Why pay for one?

V.92 modem is the "marriage" of the phone and the dialup modem. It used to be that the modem was a slave to the phone. The v.92 modem is now out in front of the telephone screening calls, accumulating call history and more. Look for call logging, voice mail, answering machine, and lots of other capabilties to come as a result of this new technology. You'll save money and have more potential with a phone line connection.

A V.92 modem lets you:
1. Handle phone calls while online. You no longer need a 2nd phone
line.
2. Upload files faster than conventional modems
3. Connects fast
4. Improved download speeds

V.92 is the latest in modem technology.
It will forever change the way you use the Internet and your phone.

Triton.net supports v.92.
