Correct, so I guess this is a Win XP Pro question now.  Browsing on that box
can't find any other computer, Linux or Win.  There are other printers shared
through Win and directories shared from both OSes that should be visible.  I can
ping the other boxes, but can't find the machines by browsing nor refer directly
to them for sharing printing (like \\othercomputer\otherprinter ).

FWIW, I have the Win XP box get its IP address from a linux DHCP server that
serves as a NAT firewall box to the internet, and also have WINS on a second
linux box on this lan.
