Anyone using Jabber? I believe it supports encryption, gateways to other
providers (AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo that I can think of), many clients to
choose from, and you can run your own server. That might be advantageous
for an organization that would want to use IM for certain business
communications. As an added buzzword bonus, it's supposedly XML through
and through as well.

I agree on GAIM and Evolution too, though I'm not using any plugins in
GAIM. GPG setup in Evo is a cinch. Just follow the online help!
