We were talking in here a while ago about Jabber and the various forms of IM
available. Recently, I found this:
http://www.lintux.cx/bitlbee.html
BitlBee is a mini-IRCd whose sole purpose is to talk to IM systems. It is
the *nix answer to Trillian, and, not surprisingly, it is not a new client:
it is a new server. ;-)
It runs on localhost, but can listen to your internal LAN, if you like.
"/help" will access your IRC client's help files, but just "help" will
access BitlBee's. You can use BitlBee's commands to log into AOL, MSN and
Yahoo IM's.
Sadly, I haven't any IM handles anymore ;-) and I did not have time
yesterday to sign up for one. Someone let me know how this works.
