[KLUG Members] have we ever considered running a forum?

I hope I didn't get anything heated started on the topic of forums. but
really I have seen some put to good use and done well, unfortunately with
windows based. was meerly a suggestion. mostly because us that are newbies
to linux for the most part could find some quality how-to's and it could
pose as a great reference tool as well.

here is my agrument for forums. several mention likeing the email thing and
that's great. I might too if I didn't have this mail getting sent to a 2MB
limit hotmail email address. with alot of forum software you can still get
emails on topics you started or commented about or heck even subscribe to
every forum which is basicly what we've done here. and not so long ago I was
a member of a forum group which if you did get a responce it was just like
this email thing (told you who wrote it, what forum group it was from, and
showed you thier entire post as if you were reading it from the forum
itself). This pictures thing as well as other imagines are nice, plus most
forums support avatars which also tends to show the persons character. but
for the most part the reason I mentioned it was for future reference. I mean
it's great to help someone out but why reinvent the wheel. with a forum you
could choose to answer the question again, or just point them to a previous
thread that covered it and have them private message ya or email or just
repost thier progress.

my ONLY reason as mentioned before with only a 2mb mail box it's hard to not
get it swamped in no time with emails.

I really appreciate all the help everyone seems to do for each other which
is cool. and after I find out all the pre-req's I'll see about getting a
KLUG polo or 2 and becoming a member or supporting member or whatever it is.
