>>>What solution would you recommend for a FULL M$ Exchange server
>>>replacement?
>>>Does anyone have any live experience with this? and if so, what kind
>>>of userbase do you have with your organization?
>>>I looked for a link in the KLUG web site under apps and servers but
>>>didn't find one. (hint hint)
>>SuSE has a server package out, it's called SuSE OpenExchange. It's $1200
>>www.suse.com that's all I know off the top of my head.
>There are currently several - Lotus Notes, OpenExchange, Bynari, and
>Oracle Collaboration Suite.
>All are commercial.
>>From my scoping about I do not believe there will an Open Source
>>equivalent to any of the above for a very long time; possibly never.
>>For really stupid political reasons. If someone wanted to do a study on
>>the type of projects where Open Source actually won't work, this would
>>be a good place to start.
>Anywho....
>KLUG has contacted all of the above groupware product teams. We will
>certainly be hosting a meeting on Lotus Notes and SuSeOpen Exchange by
>people who actually support those products on our favorite platform. No
>time frame yet, but it will happen.
>Neither Oracle or Bynari have responded to requests for an appearance.
KLUG has tentatively schedules a visit by IBM, presenting on Lotus Notes
on Linux. Date: 2003-07-22
Keep an eye on the schedule page for more information.
