What distro?  I have an RH9 box with a dual-channel 1Gb Broadcom sitting 
on the workbench behind me (IBM x335 dual 3.06Ghz, 400Mhz FSB, 3.5Gb RAM, 
Integrated dual channel RAID, and attached to an EXP16 storage array  - 
NICE!) and the card was recognized and configured automatically.
