Same here. I've diddled with Debian and SuSe in VMware. Things really
seem pretty much the same. SuSe seems more aggresive in packages and
versions, etc.. than RedHat. Debian defines the concept of
conservative. SuSe/Redhat use RPM packaging, Debian uses Deb/Apt.
These package manegement systems really seem comparable to me, I like
certains aspects of each more than the other but it is alot like
comparing any two mainstream Protestant sects (and they bicker
accordingly).

At this point I'll use whatever Ximian supports; really the deciding
factor for me.

Fedora is really the next incarnation of RedHat, although it is
blasphemy to say that on some lists. You can even upgrade from 7.x,
8.0, 9 to Fedora.

I doubt they'll change much. IBM is a big SuSe user and supported,
especially on ***HIGH*** end machines. IBM dislikes radical change,
SuSe/Novell/Ximian probably place a very high value on that
relationship.

Distro comparisons used to be pretty common article topics and such;
but I haven't seen one that is worth much of anything in a good long
while. I suspect most people have settled down with their choice at
this point.
