It appears that the RH9 XD2 will install on Fedora.  Not certain however, 
there are conflicting reports bouncing around.

I tested this in upgrading from RH8->RH9 in Vmware, it worked.  I just 
went into the Red Carpet XD channel / installed software, picked 
everything, and said remove.  Then I reinstalled from X in fail-safe mode 
after the upgrade.   Everything seemed to work, but I honestly didn't 
stress it very hard.  Don't see why that wouldn't work - I've done the 
same wipe-then-put-back on my laptop a couple of times and haven't had any 
resulting problems. [ Occasionally I test something and trash it,  RC 
Express always brings me back in a few minutes ].

For a desktop, why not.  Its been my approach to desktops lately,  and it 
helps to uncover anything you tweaked and forgot to document. :)
