At the risk of starting another lively thread on the value of Linux certification...

I wouldn't bother with Linux+. I passed it, but it has proven to have no
relevance to my resume.

I'm half ticked/half glad that Novell is requiring LPI certification as a
prerequisite for their CLE cert.

- Ticked because I already have Linux+, and Novell has used a different Comptia
cert (IT Project+, which I also have) as a prerequisite for MasterCNE (which I
want someday). I figured they would use Linux+ as a baseline too.

- Glad because LPI looks pretty thorough and it will be good to prove to myself
and Novell that I know it. It might also be an indicator that Linux+ lacked the
depth that they wanted CLE candidates to have.

If you want to feel good, do Linux+. If you want to add something meaningful to
your resume, go for the LPI. Either way, you win because you learn.

As for tutoring, I'm not a volunteer. :) But this list, and the searchable
archives, is one of your best resources. Make a list of things you want to do,
then find a Linux way to do it.
