This is unclear, UNTIL you see that ifup in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
is a symlink to /sbin/ifup ! I looked at the code until I got hungry (which
today was pretty late! :) and it is completely transparent from the script.

This is also interesting, since I'm about to migrate an Appletalk LAN to
IP and OS-X, etc... I was thinking of setting up my own staticly routed 
subnet, but if they're going to do it for me, great. Also, if it's an
"aggresive" thing, I might end up fighting the Apple software, which,
given my novice status woth Apple stuff, probably isn't a fair fight.

I think that there's a whole raft of Apple utilities that were written for
OS-X, and to anmin the Apple server properly, assimilimation of this stuff
is needed... oh well, antiher 200 pages of documentaiton to read...
