Looks like interesting applicatios, like radiation therapy or visualization.

Te BETTER choice for you would be VMware, with allows you to run Windows
as a Linux process (in an X-Window baseframe, or window). That way Windows
and any processes that run there co-exist with any other Linux applications.

Sure, and rebooting all the time is time-consuming and essentially ugly.

Right, that's why tools like VMware are going to be very helpful to you, unless
the above-cited resources yield suitable native Linux applications.
