I have just tried unsuccessfully to install a special version of LINUX
for quantitative work, using my RedHat 9, Quantian. Unfortunately, it
was developed from a Debian system and hence the installation as an
alternative boot system uses Debian directories and commands that don't
exist in a RedHat system. I seem to have gotten most of the
installation done but can't make the lilo-grub system recognize this
option. The installation instructions are for a lilo boot whereas my
RH9 usues a grub boot.
Anyone had any experience with this particular version of LINUX? I
found no references to it in recent KLUG archives. Quantian includes
lots of tools not normal in a LINUX installation, including XLISP-STAT
which is of particular interest to me.
