I've confirmed that GAIM does not support SRV.

So, after WAY too much time, my findings are....

jbother - Can't locate server.

gaim - Can't locate server.

gabber - Can't locate server.

enigma3 - Can't locate server.

kf - Wouldn't compile, said my SuSe 9.1 wasn't current enough!

Exodus - Crashes under wine :( Bummer, Exodus is sweet.

kopete - Doesn't support SRV but can be made to find the server via some
ugly settings, but this is a KDE app and looks like something a junior
high valley girl would wear in her hair. And it feels the need to
consume 80% of the screen just to convey some trivial fact.

PSI - Works, out of the box, SRV support and the whole deal. The user
interface is reminiscent of an old Motif app (just UGLY) and not
terribly intuitive (now mouse over hints, etc... once is supposed to
psychically intuit what a given little picture means - but at least
using it won't cause one to be accused of pedophilia, which is the most
likely result of using kopete).
