The CPA certification is much different than any IT certification I've 
ever seen.  Before being certified as a CPA, you have to:  have 150 
college credit hours (read: masters degree or two undergrads) with 
several accounting courses, have worked under the supervision of another 
CPA for a year, and pass the exam (four parts).  I don't know of any IT 
certifications that have education or work experience requirements.
