Everything is "fast" anymore, for the most part.

NetWare is a much more complicated NOS from the stand point of supporting lots
of little options and features all over the product. I forget what the
time-line was for the traditional NetWare File/Print to all be on Linux. The
print share is there already... I-Print or something like that. The file share
part is being called NSS. Novell writes admin tools (NWAdmin / Console1) NDS,
bla bla bla... it's a lot of product under one roof. The Samba world sees its
users pulling bits and pieces from here and there, and frankly you don't end up
with the diverse set of options NetWare offers... but the question is do you
need all of those options?

When Novell was at KLUG they made it sound like it will unfortunately be a
complete distro CD, and not simply a file share app to add to your installed
distro. Gets back to that "one app per server" ranting we did when Elizabeth
from "The Linux Box" was at KLUG. And since "Novell Linux" is not our distro,
we get to make Samba work around here.
