[KLUG Members] connecting to a cisco VPN

Hello,

I need to connect to a government Cisco 3000 VPN concentrator from my
Linux box. They are telling me that I need to download a Cisco 3000 VPN
client software and compile it into my kernel.
Besides the fact that I've never been able to successfully compile a
kernel and have it still work like it did out of the box, this seems a
bit like overkill. Doesn't Linux have VPN client software that will make
a new virtual interface for this Cisco VPN?

Anyone ever connect to a Cisco 3000?
