? I think this is the default behaviour.

Something like "chkconfig fetchmail on"

Holy cow, 10sec seems kind of excessive.  Your ISP is likely to get
pissed.

What mail store are you using.  If your using Cyrus you can put mail
into and take mail out of a mailbox at the same time.  If your using UW
(i.e. you have stuff in /var/spool/mail) you will have all kinds of
problems and probably trash the mailbox.

Use Cyrus, except no substitutes.
