What DO the boxes have?  Video port?  PS/2 keyboard/mouse ports?  NIC?
USB ports?  Expansion slots?  Other?

Devil-Linux will not auto-configure anything, but if the boxes have a
keyboard and a monitor, it will get you to a bash prompt, and you can
modprobe network modules until you find the right one.

If you're going to download an ISO, you might want to look at
http://lnx-bbc.org/ since it's smaller and might also get you to a bash
prompt.
