Did you write the admin DN (whatever you set that too in smb.conf)
password to the secrets.tdb file with smbpasswd?

The CIFS DC, assuming it is correctly configured, should create the
sambaDomain object automatically.

IMHO, your best ignoring (that is NOT-Reading) anything else.  Samba has
been changing rapidly, and the above document is actively maintained by
a guy on-the-team;  other documents you'll find around are laced with
gotcha's, obselete advice, and higher speculation-count.
