NOTE: This package is primarily intended to be used as the initial
installation kernel. You may go fine with it but if you need
additional drivers or optimisation for your CPU type, please look at
the other kernel-image-2.4.18-* packages.
Debian is not kernel version dependent. I would go ahead and download
the latest source, and the kernel-package, uh, package, and compile it.
The newer kernel binary packages *may* have this module compiled by
default.

There are two Intel drivers in stock 2.4.23, one supports "PRO/100 VE
Desktop Adapter".

Don't do a forced insmod if you have a choice, it's bad.

Something is wrong with the routing, perhaps, but the NIC itself seems
