I thought it was the other way around (you need the 1_5 files for Linux,
but not Windows).

You should be able to start typing the kernel name, and the initrd name,
and hit TAB and have grub auto-complete the filename.  (just like BASH)

That's a good way to make sure grub is reading your filesystem, and
you're spelling the filename correctly.  Give that a try.
