According to http://asg.web.cmu.edu/cyrus/mailing-list.html  
it is possible to read the mailing list archives with IMAP: 
imap://cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu/archive.info-cyrus

How can I make this work in evolution?

I subscribed to IMAP server cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu as user "anonymous" 
and I see a bunch of folders, all empty, and none with the above name.
I can't subscribe to server cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu/archive.info-cyrus
or cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu/archive.info or cyrus.andrew.cmu.edu/archive
because of server name unknown (DNS lookup?).
