I figured it out.  CDCEther and acm are NOT required at allfor the Zaurus to 
be configured properly.  I had thought that since they were being loaded, 
that they were module dependencies <BUZZ>.  Adding them 
to /etc/hotplug/blacklist prevents them from being loaded when the Z is 
inserted into the cradle and thus there is no need to unload them before 
re-seating the Zaurus later.

So, everything is wonderful now, even Kitchensync works.  That was a bit of a 
kludge to get that working.

I tell you what, Sharp dropped the ball by not making the Zaurus easier to use 
with Linux and instead focusing on Winwhatever users.  Next time I'm in the 
market for a PDA type of device, I'll definitely veer towards a PalmOS device 
first.
