If I understood the documentation correctly, they recommend that you
don't use sasldb to store your accounts since the passwords are stored
as plain text (and if someone steals that file ...).

But you do seem to lose stuff like CRAM-MD5 unless you use sasldb ...

And I haven't found a command a user can run (or I can run from a CGI)
to let users change their own password in sasldb.  That's the major
drawback for me.
