If you're in West Michigan, I'd reccommend giving TDS Metrocom a try. I
signed up with them about 6 months ago, and I've been happy. They
provided a simple DSL router as part of the setup fees, and the
up/download speeds are the same. The router is an Actiontec something,
but it will serve NAT and DHCP to ethernet, or wireless with a PC card
wireless adapter. The only problem I've had with it was that you have
to reboot the router to change NAT port mappings. Since I set up an
Astaro firewall for that, rebooting the router hasn't been necessary.
For (I think) $30.00 a month I get 256K each way, and they don't care if
I run servers as long as it's non-commercial. Reliability has been
pretty good, and a couple of calls I made went to a fairly knowledgeable
human after 10 minutes or so on hold. I do have occasional slowdowns
from "far end CRC errors" that might be related to a wiring problem at
my house, so until/unless I've ruled that out I can't blame TDS for it.
