I'll keep it simple, since I don't like typing very much. I like DSL
better than cable (in theory, anyway) since you're not sharing bandwidth
with your neigbors. SBC is one of my LEAST favorite companies, so I
went with TDS Metrocom. 256K bidirectional for $30/month, or 512 for
$40. And you get a primitive but solid NAT router. Actual 24 hour live
support that gets you a human on the phone, even!
Only problem is that DSL is really finicky about house wiring, but
that's gonna be the case regardless of who provides it.
