 From my experience with audacity, you would need to import both the 
files into a single audacity project as two separate tracks, then set 
the starting point for the second track at the end of the first, then 
export the project as a .wav or .ogg or .mp3.  This is simpler than it 
sounds and if you have Suse 9 (may also be in earlier versions) 
audacity is on the install discs.
