Linux is maturing rapidly as a Desktop solution and the Linux Terminal
Server Project offers a low TCO solution for rolling out Linux on the
desktop. Utilizing cutting edge thin clients or legacy PC's, LTSP offers
a centrally managed Thin Client environment. 

Our presenter:

Jim McQuillan Jim has been developing solutions for customers, utilizing
Unix and networking since 1984 and has been involved with Linux since
1995. Jim has functioned as a Chief Technologist for more than 17 years
and is responsible for the successful deployment of health care systems
throughout the North Eastern United States. Additionally, Jim is the
founder of the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP), an open source
project that has received worldwide recognition as the preferred method
of deploying thin clients in a GNU/Linux environment. Ron Colcernian Ron
Colcernian began designing and developing software and computer systems
in 1969. In 1981, he founded a consulting firm, re-engineering and
implementing computer systems to take advantage of the best current
technology. Ron has served as a member of the Board of Directors of both
the Michigan!/usr/group and Southeastern Michigan AS/400 Users Group.
Ron is President of DisklessWorkstations.com, the global leader in LTSP
Linux-based, thin-client hardware, strategy and deployment. Ron is a
principal in the LTSP project. He holds a degree in mechanical
engineering and is based in southeastern Michigan. Erick Tyack As
president of Acurrus Consulting, Erick has been involved in the
successful deployment of Linux, LTSP and open source solutions for the
desktop in retail, manufacturing and distribution. Prior to founding
Acurrus Consulting, Erick worked as the Chief Technology Officer for one
of the largest retail florists in the country, integrating multiple
platforms into one cohesive environment.
