IMO Suse 9.1 is better than 9.0. I'll let you decide if it sucks.
BTW, my wireless is MUCH better now that I'm using ndiswrapper.
The major bummer I've found is you can't install on a XFS root
partition. There is a special driver floppy that you can download and
will allow you to access other (non /) partitions during the install.

As far as FC2, I haven't tried an install or upgrade yet, so I don't
know anything about it. However there have been a number of posts on
the MDLUG list from people raving how good it is. (FWIW :)

I've also read that a FC2 install sometimes trashes the partition table
when the installer tries to setup a dual boot with Windows. And it's
firewire support is broken, and the accelerated nvidia driver (from the
manufacturer) doesn't work with the FC2 kernel.

I'll be sure to install it on a machine that has nothing else good on
the hard drive when/if I get around to trying it ... :-)

As far as people trashing their RH/FC1 systems doing an upgrade ...
That's why I ALWAYS have an extra root partition on my hard drive.
If I want to do an upgrade, I clone my running system over there and run
the upgrade on a copy of my system. If it fails then I fall back to my
good partition. I do the same thing for a fresh install of a new
version. Waste ~4GB and save yourselves the headaches. BACKUPS!!!
