report on reversing RH9 -> Fedora2:
RH9 does NOT recognize Fedora as a LINUX distribution hence insists on
a bare installation, not an update. Bummer! Now I've got to do that back
ukp that we all know should be regular with a system in which mkisofs
works but cdrecord does NOT, at least on my system. I'll try reinstalling
the RH9 version of cdrecord but that may cause all sorts of compatibility
problems.

I'm contemplating buying a new hard drive, mounting it on the same machine
WITHOUT the old harddrive, do a clean RH9 installation on the new disk,
then reintroduce the old drive as a slave drive and transfer what I want
over.  Is that feasible?

Having LINUX fun,   Ralph

PS just lost a KOMODO monitor I bought a few years ago from digilink in
the afternoon storm. It had already developed grey steaks across the
screen where there were dark images on the window(s). Any recommendations
for cheap 15,17 inch monitors?
