I've seen this before. Did you happen to chage IP's on your server...???

There are some files that NMBD keeps his data in. Some data is never purged. I
had three IP's listed for the server once in these files. But it processed data
in the file oldest->newest and only took two tries. Gee, it couldn't find
itself!

Stop the server. Delete wins.dat, and there was another one but I am not seeing
it on my fresh install of 3.0.8.

I guess "lsof | grep samba" before you bring it down, go to each dir it has
"config" files open in and grep for your server name. Delete files that looks
like wins.dat type data, and crank up the server. Life goes on...
