I burn data (ie mp3's and ogg's) from my Linux box to the burner on my Ibook
by mounting the Linux directory on the Mac. I know this is backwards to what
you asked - burn M$ info to Linux, but if its not too much trouble, try
mounting the M$ directory on to your Linux box and burn a data disk. This
should at least back up your iTunes material onto external media.
