Good day, everyone.
I've googled, fiddled, and nmapped, and yet, I'm getting very wierd
I've got a linux box and a UNIX box. They are on the same VPN to a
customer, who has three printers connected to an AXIS print server.
The UNIX (NCR) can print just fine to the Axis print server, the linux
box cannot.
Config looks like this in printcap:
awlj1|awlj1_*
:cm=HP LaserJet 8100
:ifhp=model=hp8100
:tc=.common_no_banner2
:lp=192.168.2.5%9100
awti1|awti1_*
:cm=TI OMNI 800 model 880
:tc=.textonly
:lp=192.168.2.5%9101
awpa1|awpa1_*
:cm=Panasonic KX-P2023
:tc=.textonly
:lp=192.168.2.5%9102
The configuration on the NCR Unix machine is different, but those ports
are open, proven with telnet (although I can't do anything once I telnet
in, it just hangs) (although they don't appear from an nmap). An
lpstat -a shows that they are there, but this is the type of stuff I see:
Printer: awti1 at palladium 'TI OMNI 800 model 880'
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
Server: no server active
Status: keeping error job 'adam at palladium+982' at 13:20:54.261
Rank Owner/ID Class Job Files Size Time
error adam at palladium+982 A 982 ERROR: job removal requested
Printer: awpa1 at palladium 'Panasonic KX-P2023'
Queue: no printable jobs in queue
Server: no server active
Status: keeping error job 'adam at palladium+797' at 13:20:48.681
I'm also getting 'connection refused' when doing some work with it.
I'm not at ALL familiar with Axis print servers, and unfortunately I
do'nt have much access to any of the information about the print server,
nor can I get in there and fiddle with it. My printing experience is
weak at best, and these types of problems befuddle me rather quickly.
Any printing debugging pointers would be well appreciated, and if you
have any info in specific, I'd take that too...
Adam
