Bruce will talk about the pitfalls and triumphs of the recent upgrade of
his company's email server to SuSE 9.1, sendmail, Cyrus-IMAP,
authenticated SMTP, Squirrelmail (webmail), and a number of anti-spam /
anti-virus solutions evaluated on the email gateway.
The bulk of the presentation will be on the commercial anti spam/virus
solution which he ended up with, after looking at various open source
solutions.
Our presenter:
Bruce Smith is a Systems Administrator and Software Developer for
Armstrong International Inc. where he is responsible for a Unix and
Linux network of Servers, Workstations, printers and X-Terminals
spanning five buildings in Three Rivers. Bruce has a BS in Computer
Science and Mathematics from Central Michigan University. (go Chips! :)
Bruce is also a core developer on the Devil Linux distribution, and has
a personal web page here.
