I installed on a VAIO a very long time ago (> 2 years I think). So I
doubt it has any bearing on the compatibility of current models. This
was back during the brief period when VAIO ascended to the status of
"thee laptop to own.". I installed Redhat, Apache w/PHP, Server
Studio, and Informix Universal Server + data copied from the corporate
database sever. This was so some people could demo web application we
had developed; once the thing finished starting up (~20 minutes!) it
worked pretty well, although i probably took years off the life of that
poor little hard drive.

We don't have any current model VAIOs around.
