I bought my Vaio PCG-SRX77 (2.7 lbs) in April of '02. It's worked fine
except for the hinge of the display panel, which doesn't hold the panel
up.

The battery lasted till last winter. The replacement battery, from
LaptopsForLess.com, lasted less than a year.

The computer came with XP Home edition; I installed XP professional. I
also did a dual-boot with Mandrake, first with 10.0, which never
recognized my wireless card, and more recently with 10.1, which seems to
be working quite well (recognizes wireless; also Cardbus USB2 card). I
haven't gotten sound to work on it yet.
