[KLUG Members] SuSE 9.2 - libpng.so.2 missing?

I'm trying to get my Canon i250 USB printer working, but I need
libpng.so.2.

I *think* it was included with SuSE 9.1.

I went to http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/libpng.html to try and find
that missing lib, but I'm totally lost!

So, can anyone point me to ??? that will explain why SuSE removed
the libpng.so.2 lib, or what generic driver might work?

I've google.com/linux for about six hours now, and I'm no closer to
have a working printer.

DUMB question to follow:  Can I use the .PPD file from the Windows
driver "package"?
