[KLUG Members] Inkscape extensions fail to load

I've downloaded and installed Inkscape and when I start it I get an
error message that some extensions failed to load. The log file tells
me, inter alia, the following:

"Extension "EPS Input" failed to load because a dependency was not met.
Dependency::
  type: extension
  location: path
  string: org.inkscape.input.ps"

The file I'm trying to open is an eps file, so I take it I need to do
something indicated by this error message. But I'm stymied. When I
Google the string "org.inkscape.input.ps", Google sees it as a URL, but
when I enter it as a url I get nothing.

Can anyone help?
