[KLUG Members] Meeting 2005-11-08 - XMPP (aka Jabber) with Jive

Having presented once before on implementing XMPP 'instant messaging'
using the Jabberd2 server Adam will now cover the JIVE XMPP server. JIVE
is a formerly commericial XMPP server, written in Java, that has now
been released as Open Source. JIVE provides solid performance and
stability along with its easy installation and elegant administration
interface. JIVE provides rosters, message logging, LDAP authentication,
and the ability to use any JDBC available database. 

Our presenter:

Adam is a network administrator in Grand Rapids, but the network he
deals with is all over Michigan, with a couple of hundred workstations,
running Linux and other Operating Systems. Adam has been a regular
contributor to technical discussions on our main mailing list, both
presenting and solving some of the most challenging networking and
configuration problems. You can read more about Adam at his website or
