It is apparently easy to write a Win32 app that beats the ever livin' snot out
of the print server with RPC calls; XP can generate a steady stream of RPC
calls. We installed a beefy dual-CPU box just to handle printing (just
Samba/CUPS) just to keep availability up. We have some 50 odd printers and
printing works without incident.
