How much muss/fuss is it to put LINUX on the WAP? Does it then still support
802.1x & EAP?

All I want is a *^*&@(*@)@ default route! I'm still staggering from
the concept
that someone would make and IP device where you CAN'T specify a default
router. How stupid.

I could, but then I need to keep track of which WAP is the DHCP server, yada
yada... when I have all that stuff setup already and the config is centralized
in the LDAP server. Plus the tracking the DHCP events is handy for some
purposes, which I can't do if they are off on some tiny-brained little AP
somewhere. Not to mention that the destruction of one WAP would then stop the
entire wireless network from running.
