I used hn.org for along time, their e-mails were always strangely
worded. I think this is the correct interpretation.

Or your ISP is knocking your PPPoe connection on a frequent basis, so
you need to run the client frequently. Earthstink would do this to be
all the time.

My experience is that they get the origin IP address of the connection,
so no matter where the dyn-dns client is inside the nat'd network, it
just works. You don't usually have to 'send them' your IP address,
just make a connection containing some credentials, the connection is
sort of self-informative.
